Refrigerated Freight
Temperature-sensitive freight requires experience, discipline, and a carrier that understands what's at stake. At Safe Way Carrier, that's our specialty.
Safe Way Carrier has been running refrigerated freight since 2011. Cold storage and cold transportation is the core of what we've built around. Over time, we've developed real commodity expertise, including specialty products like ice cream that demand precise temperature management from pickup to delivery.
Our reefer fleet runs newer equipment maintained by our in-house shop, operated by experienced drivers who average 3–4+ years of tenure with us. That kind of consistency matters in cold chain logistics. Temperature excursions, missed delivery windows, and communication breakdowns are costly, and they're less likely when you're working with a carrier whose drivers know the freight, know the lanes, and aren't turning over every few months.
We run OTR across all 48 states, with a strong emphasis on Midwest-to-East-Coast reefer lanes. These are our core corridors, and we've built our operation to run them reliably and repeatedly.

What We Haul
We specialize in temperature-sensitive commodities, with particular expertise in:
- Ice cream and frozen desserts
- Frozen and refrigerated food products
- Cold storage freight requiring precise temperature control throughout transit

Our Equipment
Cold chain integrity starts with the right equipment, properly maintained. Safe Way Carrier runs newer reefer trailers serviced by our in-house maintenance shop, not farmed out to third-party dealerships. Our drivers operate Freightliner Cascadias, Kenworth T680s, and Peterbilts equipped with APUs on late-model trucks, and our 24-hour dedicated service line keeps support accessible whenever something comes up on the road.
We don't advertise brand-new equipment because we'd rather be accurate than impressive on paper. What we can tell you is that our fleet is well-maintained, our shop is in-house, and our drivers aren't left waiting on a third party when something needs attention.

Working Directly With Shippers
We prefer to work directly with shippers rather than through brokers. That preference isn't just about margin — it's about how we believe freight relationships should work. When we own the relationship, we can speak to it directly. There's no middleman to call, no chain of hand-offs to navigate when something needs attention. You know who to call, and so do we.
That approach has shaped how we've grown since 2011 — steadily, on the strength of direct relationships and a reputation for doing what we say we'll do.
